The theme "Crafted" was presented to us as a challenge to create a fully finished ensemble made entirely out of muslin, focusing on intricate details and craftsmanship within a familiar material. My design was inspired by circus costumes, with an emphasis on volume, achieved through a bubble technique applied to a three-layered skirt and top. Tulle was sewn in to each panel of gathered muslin to make the volume even more extreme. A large bow was added to the front, both as a decorative element and a functional closure. Additionally, I drew inspiration from lingerie design, incorporating a muslin garter belt to support the weight of the heavy skirt.
