"ENTOMODE" is a collection that subtly illustrates the impact of human actions on insect biodiversity. By combining 19th century fashions with insect elements, this collection addresses the evolution of fashion and its consequences of overconsumption, pollution, and unsustainability. Mass animal extinction and deforestation are urgent problems that still barely receive proper attention.
LOOK ONE features a sheer nude organza and tulle blouse with leg-of-mutton-inspired sleeves and French seams, a spotted wool corset with pannier-style stuffing, and black wool trousers inspired by insect legs. Patterns and silhouettes mimic creatures of our environment and mirror human history.
LOOK TWO consists of a black hair-calf dress with organza ruffle, black wool suit jacket with insect wing coattails and lace lining, and an exposed bustle with nude and black tulle and organza cascading down the back of the wearer. Patterns and silhouettes mimic creatures of our environment and mirror human history.
